Support for Children and Young People
The Centre provides a secure friendly environment for children to develop safe from harm and with the support to learn how to express themselves appropriately. Children are encouraged to engage in activities with others, this allows them the opportunity to improve their communication skills, learn how to share, understand their own and others feelings and to build friendships.
Working with schools, resident children are encouraged to understand the importance of education and are supported to make the most of the learning opportunities presented to them and to understand both their rights and responsibilities.
The aim is that engagement will lead to increased self-esteem for the children, many of whom are the indirect victims of domestic abuse; and that their time at the Centre will have a positive impact on their lives
